The National Electric Coordinator (CEN) reported the opening of the administrative and technical offers of the international public bidding to expand the electric transmission system in various parts of the country, initiatives that also include the Antofagasta region with several initiatives, which had begun last March.
Finally, 10 companies submitted a total of 37 technical offers for the different works being tendered, out of a total of 39 projects corresponding to re-bidding, which seeks to give continuity to works with early termination of contract.
During the opening ceremony, it was corroborated that the bidders uploaded the corresponding administrative and technical documents in the Coordinator’s bidding portal. This milestone of the process was reflected in the Minutes of Opening of Administrative and Technical Bids published in the portal and website of the operator.
Antofagasta Region
Among the works included in the process is the expansion of the Kimal Substation, which generates the spaces required for the connection of the HVDC Kimal-Lo Aguirre Line; the expansion of the Parinas substation, and the increase in capacity of the 2×220 kV Nueva Zaldívar-Likanantai Line, among others.
The evaluation process of the bids submitted has now begun and the next step will be the opening of the economic bids, scheduled for November 14, 2024.
The National Electric Coordinator, which carries out this bidding process, is the operator of the National Electric System (SEN), which runs between Arica and Chiloé, with an extension of more than 3,100 kilometers in length.
It was created by Law 20.936 as a non-profit Autonomous Corporation of Public Law, in charge of ensuring the safe operation, at minimum cost and with open access to the system, among other functions.
2024 The opening of economic offers is scheduled for November 14 of this year, CEN said.
