The institutions seek to provide more opportunities for students and also to promote academic research and the development of new knowledge in areas such as direct current, safety, intelligent networks and others.

On May 9, a collaboration agreement was signed between Conexión Kimal – Lo Aguirre, the company in charge of the development, construction and operation of the HVDC Kimal Lo Aguirre transmission project, and INACAP, an institution known for being closely connected with industry, to provide its students with cutting-edge curricula and content, in line with new technologies and the needs of companies.

The agreement facilitates access to reciprocal information and allows professionals, students and academics from both institutions to participate in training and technology transfer activities.

The institutions hope to provide more opportunities for students, but also to promote academic research and the development of new knowledge in the challenges of incorporating projects in Chile in direct current, project engineering, security, intelligent networks, among others.

During the activity, held at INACAP’s headquarters in Renca, Rector Lucas Palacios said that “this alliance fills us with motivation because energy is something that transcends far beyond the environment. It impacts communities, the daily lives of millions of people, public policies, infrastructure and many other things. It is something that we must consider transversally in all careers, in all aspects of our lives and, undoubtedly, this approach with Conexión Kimal – Lo Aguirre will allow our students to better understand that importance. And that will make them more outstanding professional technicians and technicians with a more relevant training for when they go out into the working world”.

In turn, the general manager of Conexión Kimal – Lo Aguirre, Sebastián Fernández, said that “with this agreement we seek to foster collaboration and promote knowledge and innovation in the field of energy, allowing students to access opportunities where they can share the experience of our team of specialists in the development, construction and operation of one of the most iconic projects for the country in terms of transmission and a decisive step in the energy transition”.
